It is always nice to have some flowers at home during Chinese New Year. It helps to brighten up the house and also helps to bring in the Chinese New Year spirit.
I have always been buying 银柳
for Chinese New Year for many many years but this year I wanted something different and Yes.... with the help of a friend, I got the following....
09-Feb-2010

I have been extremely busy during this Chinese New Year period and because of that, I have not been blogging. I think my blog is pretty messy. At times is "back to the future" and at times is "up to date".
As mentioned previously, I used to have one 团圆饭 per year but from Year 2001 onwards, I have three 团圆饭. Three very special 团圆饭 with three different group of close people around me.
To start off with, my first 团圆饭 is at 華廳
on 06-Feb-2010.
06-Feb-2010 (華廳)
Base on feedback, the food there really not bad but I think the prices are really bit steep looking at the number of dishes (chicken, duck, shark soup, prawn, scallop, deer, broccoli and tofu) that were ordered.......

and the desserts are ice cream and pomelo mango pudding :

and not forgetting my own feast (mushroom soup, been hoon, broccoli and tofu):

My second 团圆饭 is at my house on 12-Feb-2010. Think I mentioned before about the steamboat previously......
12-Feb-2010 (Steamboat)
My third 团圆饭 is at my aunt's place on 13-Feb-2010 but too bad, I didn't manage to take any picture.
Back in my main office, we also had some Chinese New Year celebration and I have shared some "Jelly cake" (heard quite famous given by one of my colleague) with the rest of my other colleagues.......

First come my food......
then come the famous "Jelly Cake"....

Remember that Rare Christ-maz that was mentioned previously? We almost had 1 Christ-maz Party in year 2009 but end up having a Bosses Party in year 2010.......
Manager A & Manager B: Chist-maz Party??? Sure we can have one but don't forget to invite our customers and Ah Mah. Wait a minute. We forgot, both of us are going back home to celebrate our Christ-maz leh.
Employee X, Y, Z: Alamak!!! going home? then how to have Christ-maz Party? Hmm... why don't we change to New Year Party instead? OK lah... set. Make it on 8th-Jan-2010. By then all managers will be back liao.
Mean while, email invitations were send to both Customers and Ah Mah..........
Ah Mah: No problem. Customers been giving us good business and make my life so good and easy. Of course must invite them. Count me in.
Customers thinking: "We're trying to find new vendors to replace you guys, paiseh to accept free food and drinks now leh" and replying: "Dear Ah Mah and the rest, Paiseh lah we have some important events going on that day, cannot make it. You guys enjoy yourself ok".
Ah Mah: Huh? Customers boh eng? Aiyah then waste time... I better go play golf instead. Count me out then.
Employee X, Y, Z: HUH??? Both Ah Mah and the customers all not coming? Lucky still got the bosses.
and all thanks to Employee X, Y, Z, we still manage to have a Party. A Party with the BOSSes......
8-Jan-2010 (Sa-ku-ra)
To start the ball rolling, everyone was given a door gift with 2 Golden Village movie money

Next we have many lucky draw presents. Coincidentally,
2008 Party: 1st Prize (NDS) -> A new colleague from overseas and
2010 Party: 1st Prize (Digital Camera) -> A new colleague from overseas also.
In fact, Out of the 3 main lucky draw prizes, 2 (Digital Camera and Ipod Nano) went to new colleagues that joined us recently but there is this exceptional Aunty from Ipoh. Very Lucky one. Beh Tahan.
Last Christ-maz Party got a Ipod Shuffle then this year BOSSes Party got a Clock Radio. I keep asking myself, how come like that????
Then i finally think I got the answer. I think is because..... everyday Aunty Ipoh portraits herself as a newbie to the company and therefore lady luck shinning brightly on her lor.... Hee...
We also have about 10 $20 Capita Vouchers winners:
Jokes aside but hor our team really got quite a few lucky winners and should thank to this "Year New Huat Huat" cake. Eat already, "Huat Ah".... and you guys really want to know the real reason how come Aunty Ipoh so lucky???
Hmm... because she's the one who cut this "New Year Huat Huat" cake and accordingly to her, this cake was evenly cut.
