Office SuperStar 之 "朋友"......

We had a non-stop 4 hours mini concert at Party World on 26-Mar-2010. Altogether 13 of us and "朋友" was the finale song that we sang for a colleague/friend who is going to leave us for a new job. Whatever the reason(s) for leaving the Company. I'm sure we will all wish him the very best.

I think it is important to have a group of good colleagues in office and many times not everyone is lucky to meet good colleagues and I'm definitely lucky to have good colleagues to go Karaoke with on 26-Mar.

We started with a quick dinner at "Apolo Banana Leaf" then followed by a Karaoke session at Party World.

"I cannot change them but I can change myself". This is what our ex-Prime Minister told us when he decided to change his working environment to pursue his dream career.

Using a 不变的正确优良作工心态来应付万变的邪恶环境, our ex-Prime Minister decided to move on. Definitely NOT because our ex-Prime Minister is not capable. I'm 100% sure that he's definitely capable but could it be because of the presence the:

• Mentor Minister who likes to comment here and there non stop or
• Senior Minister who likes to give 1990s history lesson or
• Cabinet Ministers who likes to give attitude or
• Members of the Parliament who do not know what do

Anyway we had a good farewell dinner for our ex-Prime Minister and sincerely wishing him the very BEST.

Fruitful Saturday.....

I started with 6 posts in the month of Jan then 5 posts in the month of Feb. Almost 2 weeks have passed and I only have 3 posts so far. I must really put in more effort to blog more this month.

I remembered that last time I took up my degree course was in year 2003. 7 years have passed and I'm starting to ask myself. Is it time to upgrade? I started my Saturday with a tour to NUS Campus for their Open House.

Talking about ADSL Modem Router, I must thank DLINK for bringing this right product to local ADSL Internet Subscribers and on the other hand must condemn LINKSYS for bringing in similar product when their Modem Router keeps disconnecting from the internet and does not support local ADSL RFC protocol.

Even when performing the setup, DLINK already have our local ISP selection and look at the N series wireless speed after the setup:

How to improve PRODUCTIVITY when "THEY".....

In the recent Budget 2010, "Productivity" is one of the key issue that was brought up by "THEM"......



"THEY" hope everyone of us will play our part, sound very good but hor how to improve productivity when they are not even playing their part???

• In 1980s, we achieved about 5% productivity growth and we only have 1 leader.
  

• In 1990s, we achieved about 3% productivity growth but we have 1 leader and 1 leader adviser.
  

• In 2000s, we achieved unknown productivity growth and now we have 1 leader, 1 leader adviser and 1 leader teacher.

Instead of improving productivity because "三个臭皮将胜过朱葛亮", it becomes "too many cooks spoil the broth". Haiz... but wait a minute, what about our hard earn $$?

I LOVE Chinese New Year 之 "拜年".....

After that 苹果 battery saga, I can finally rest my mind and continue my last series of "I LOVE Chinese New Year" and YES.... the last reason is "拜年".....

On top of the usual Chinese New Year visiting and friends visiting me, this year I have also invited my colleagues to my place. Something that I have previously done when I'm still with my first company. How times fly....

and because I have been busy eating, totally forget to take the picture of the sushi....

and thanks to my good colleagues who brought over ice creams, beverages and snack (especially from Taiwan).....

Luckily got 苹果 Insurance (APPLE CARE).....

I have been using my black apple for almost 2 years and recently I have been complaining about the keyboard problem.

My black apple has not been physically and emotionally stable recently and whenever I typed while resting my palm on the apple, this apple will go haywire and refuse to output the text on the LCD screen.

I decided to bring my one and only favourite black apple to the service centre and to my surprise, the culprit turned out to be the battery. Puzzled? Same here. This is what happen:

• The battery got bloated up because of some hardware problem
  
• The bloated battery then pressed onto the keyboard circuitry
• When resting my palm onto the apple to type, it causes contact problem

I guess I'm quite lucky as in some extreme cases, I heard the batteries even exploded. Luckily I got buy this 苹果 Insurance. At least it did help to save at least $200 on

• Labour Cost
• Parts Cost (Top Case and Battery)
  
• GST
